Not So Sweet Treat...(Part 4)

(Speedy and Sparkle escaped the grasp of the Fudge clone, and survived a night in a dangerous part of the forest...little did they know...the worst was yet to come...)


Sparkle's ear twitched, as she yawned, and started to wake up. She slowly opened her eyes, and looked around. It was morning. 

"Well...we made it through the night Speedy....Speedy?...Speedy!?" Sparkle yelled, looking around. He was nowhere to be found. The fire was out, and everything was silent. Sparkle began to breathe rapidly, thinking something terrible happened to him overnight... 

"Relax! I'm right here! >X3" Speedy said, walking through some bushes, with something in his hand. "I just figured you'd be hungry...so two hours later...I made something editable...>XD" Speedy said with a laugh, putting the flat rock on her lap.

There where some purple berries, and some acorn pancakes, that Speedy made. "Wow...Thanks Speedy! <X3" She said, starting to eat. 

Speedy watched her eat, a bit nervous. "Well?...They ok?...XP"

"It's great Speedy! I didn't know you could cook! X3" she said, happily eating the pancakes and sweet berries.

Speedy laughed a bit. "Oh, I don't...this is one of the only things I learned to make from Granny...even then...you don't want to know how the first batch came out...-_-'..."

Sparkle just giggled at him. "You didn't have to go through all that trouble for me Speedy...<X3"

"Naahh....no trouble...I couldn't really sleep well anyway...how about you?...Feeling any better?..."

"A little...still sore though..." she said, eating the last bit of her meal, and quietly burping. "Excuse me...<X3" 

Speedy giggled and smiled at her. "It's fine...if you're ready, we can head to my lab...I have some equipment we'll need there...do you think we are ready to take fudgebar?..."

"Well, I think we..." Sparkle was cut off, by loud screaming. Spiketail ran through the both of them. 

"What the!?" Speedy yelled, watching him. 

"That freak of nature is worse than you!! Screw that stupid stone!!" Spiketail yelled, as he ran. Speedy and Sparkle looked at each other.

In the distance, they could see a pair glowing purple eyes heading for them.

"He's back...we better get moving..." Speedy said, dashing off.

Sparkle just watched Fudgy for a bit, then flew after Speedy. 

"We have to high tail it to the lab, I need some extra time...come on!" Speedy said, activating his shoes, and boosting past Spiketail. 

"HEY!! >XI" Spiketail yelled, almost getting blown over. Sparkle flew faster, trying to keep up with Speedy, while avoiding branches. 

"We warned you!!" Sparkle yelled, flying past Spiketail.

"Shut up!! I don't care!! >XI" he yelled, leaping into the air, into a portal he made, closing it behind him, disappearing.

Speedy kept boosting, while weaving through the trees. "Did we lose him?!" Speedy said, blasting across a river.

"I think we lost him..." she said, nervously looking back, seeing no sign of the evil clone.


They then reached the lab a bit later, panting a bit.

"This is probably the second scariest day of my life..." Sparkle said, checking the windows.


When Speedy got to his worktable, his face turned pale. "Oh no...not good..."

"What!? What is it now!?" Sparkle said, almost panicking. 

Speedy showed her his destroyed device. "Do you know what these are?..."

"No...why?..."

"These are Sonic Disrupter Discs. I designed them to attach to my gloves, to give me more concussive power. These would cause sonic waves, that would destroy Fudgy, at a molecular level. But...somebody destroyed them..." Speedy said, knowing who it was. Just then, Chip popped in.

"Speedy! Sparkle!! <X3" Chip cheered, running and jumping on Sparkle. 

"Uh...now isn't the best time Chip..." Sparkle said, as someone banged on the door.

"Huh?...What's going on?..." Chip asked, nervously holding onto Sparkle.

"Don't worry Chip...I got you..." she said, holding him protectively. 

Speedy grabbed his Ice gun, and pointed it at the door. It swung open, with Fudgy glaring at them. Speedy fired at him, freezing him in place. 

"Heheh...not so tough now huh!? >:3" Speedy said, while snickering. Fudgy stayed frozen, but started to vibrate a bit.

"I think you spoke too soon..." Sparkle said, protecting Chip, as he began to shake. 

"Ugh...figures...-_-'..." Speedy said, tossing the gun aside, and dashing into Fudgy, shattering him. 

Speedy landed on the ground, and the fragments fell around him. "Hmph...finally..."

He thought it was over. Chip and Sparkle watched from his lab. The fragments glowed, flowed together, shattered the ice, and reformed again. Fudgy just stared at Speedy, and got in a battle stance. 

"So...this is how it's gonna be huh?..." Speedy said, getting in the same stance.


"Sparkle?...Why is there two of uncle Speedy?..." Chip said, while whimpering, and hiding behind Sparkle's leg.

"It's going to be ok Chip...Speedy and I are handling it...just stay under the table over there for now...ok?..." she said, nuzzling his cheek, and nudging him to the table.

"O-Ok...." he said, while nervously shaking. 

"We'll be right back..." she said, giving him a smile, then flying down to help Speedy fight. 


Speedy was locked blow for blow. He was fighting a mirror. He was also losing to it. He went to punch his evil clone, when it blocked him, and tail whipped him into a tree* UGH!! DX

Fudgy then turned to see Sparkle flying at him, fireballs in hand. "Hope you can take the heat!! >:I"

Fudgy's eyes just flashed, as he disappeared.

"WHAT!?" Sparkle said, missing him. He then appeared above her, and slammed her to the ground. "AHH!! DX"

"Sparkle!! >XI" Speedy said, slowly getting back up. "This would be so much easier...if I had my S.D.Ds...."

Fudgy flipped off Sparkle, and watched her. Infuriated, she slowly stood back up.

"You're cheap!!" she said, sending a massive fire blast at him, melting him. 

"Sparkle! Easy! You're in a FOREST!!" Speedy said, quickly putting out fires that she made in the process. 

"Sorry...I couldn't help it...>XI" Sparkle said, folding her arms.

"Well...at least Fudgebar is down for a while..."

"Yup! You can come out now Chip! >X3" Sparkle said, poking the puddle.

"Sparkle! Don't get so close to that thing!!" Speedy yelled, running to her.

"Why not?...We..." she was cut off, as a hand came out of the puddle, and grabbed her. Sparkle let out a loud scream. "SPEEDY HELP ME!! DX" she yelled, as the hand pulled her in. 

Speedy quickly dashed to her, and grabbed her, pulling her away. "You alright?..."

"Speedy...he's scaring me..." she said, watching Fudgy reform, but bigger, and stronger looking.

"It's alright...stay here..." Speedy said, putting her down, and dashing to him. 

Speedy boosted towards him as fast as he could, splattering him everywhere. 

"Ha! Actually...eww....XP" Speedy said, shaking the fudge off him. Fudgy simply reformed again, and punched Speedy in the face so hard, he fell onto his back. "AUGH!! DX"

Fudgy then made his hand into a blade. Chip was watching, and screamed. "SPEEDY!! DX"

Sparkle quickly flew at Fudgy, swinging her hammer. Fudgy's ear twitched, and he quickly spun around, and blocked her with his own hammer. 

"I'm not...letting...you hurt...Speedy!! >XI" Sparkle said, pushing against him. Fudgy just made a fist come out of his chest, hitting her in jaw.

"OW!! DX" she yelped, falling to the ground. Fudgy just stood over her, and turned his hand into a Spikeball. 

"You have become a problem...you will be disabled...then fused..." he said, in a menacing tone, raising the mace. 

Sparkle just shook in fear, as his glowing eyes stared at her. 

"Sparkle! HIT HIM!!" Speedy yelled, getting back up. She didn't respond. She was frozen with fear. 

Speedy quickly dashed in front of Sparkle, taking the hit. AUGH!! DX


Fudgy then grabbed him by the neck, and lifted him up. "Your antics are getting tiresome...you will be reformed into us...and added to us..." he said, starting to flow fudge over Speedy's body. 

"HURK! Sparkle! Get Chip out of here! Save yourself!! >XI" Speedy said, while struggling. 

"I'm not leaving you Speedy!!" Sparkle said, making her hands red hot, and punching Fudgy right in the chest where the stone was.

"SCREEEE!!!" it screamed, turning into a puddle, and quickly slithering away. Speedy just fell to the ground.

"You ok Speedy?..." Sparkle asked, helping him up. 

"Yeah...thanks...how about you?..."

"I'm ok now..." she said, looking up at Chip, was watching from the lab, with tears in his eyes, while shaking. "Poor Chip..." she said, flying to him.

"He'll be ok..." Speedy said, jumping through the trees, and getting to the lab, patting Chip's head as he walked in. 

Sparkle just took Chip, and held him in her arms. He quietly sniffled, and held onto her, and put his face in her chest. 

"It's ok Chip...you're safe now..." she said, nuzzling his ear. He quietly sighed, and calmed down a bit.

Speedy just looked over his broken invention. "Chip...do you know who broke this?...Be honest..." he said, showing it to him.

"I...I don't know Uncle Speedy...you were the only one here last night..." he said quietly.

Speedy's eyes widened. "...Sparkle...do you know what this means?..."

"Fudgebar broke it...-_-'..." Sparkle said, with a sigh.

"Exactly. Which means...we've got an even bigger problem on our hands...."

"Wait...that wasn't you last night?..." Chip said, getting very scared again.

"No...it wasn't...I was nowhere near here..." Speedy said, looking at the damage to the S.D.Ds.

"Then...then...who did I say goodnight to last night?..." Chip said, starting to cry.

Sparkle just rocked him, and kissed his head. "It's going to be ok Chip...me and Speedy are handling this...it will be over soon..."

Chip just quietly cried into her chest. She nuzzled him, and cuddled him, trying to comfort the scared child. Speedy got his tools, and got to work. Sparkle looked over at him.

"What are you doing?..."

"Repairing them...it might take a while...but it's the only chance we got of destroying him for good..."

"Alright...need any help?..."

"No...just take Chip back to everyone, and warn them..."

"Alright...I'll be back soon..." she said, flying out of the lab with Chip.


Sparkle then got the village, and put Chip down. "Chip...please warn everyone...I'm going to get someone to help us..."

Chip gave her a worried look. "Someone...else? Sparkle...I don't think that's a good idea...knowing how protective uncle Speedy is, he's going to get very mad if he finds out you brought someone else into this..."

Sparkle smiled at him. "It's gonna be ok, I know this person very well...Just don't tell Speedy...please..."

"I...well...ok...I guess.."

Sparkle smiled at him, and gently hugged him. "Thanks Chip...you're the best...see you soon...<X3" she said, flying off.

Chip just shyly smiled and blushed, while waving. "Bye Sparkle....<X3"



Later, Speedy was still working on the S.D.Ds. Sparks were flying everywhere. "Stupid fudge clone...I worked hard on this...>XI"

Sparkle then flew in, and told her guest to stay outside. "Hey Speedy! Still working on that thing?...X3"

"Yeah...Fudgebar really did a number on it...what's up? Trouble?.." he asked, while working.

"No...but I did find someone to help us fight Fudgebar...>X3"

Speedy just dropped his tools. "...Did...did you just say...'someone'?...."

"Uhh...yes?..." she said, stepping back a bit.

"Sparkle...why...why would you do that!? You know where I stand on this! I don't even like having you involved in this! Now there is a third!?" Speedy said, visibly frustrated. "Who is it?!"

"Come on out sis..." Sparkle said, gesturing at the door. Blaze the cat walked in.

"Hey. Heard you guys needed some help." she said, standing next to Sparkle. Speedy just glared at her. 

"Please Sparkle.....PLEASE tell me you're joking about this...you involved your...sister, is it? T_T" 

"Well to be fair, we need the extra help..." Sparkle said, dropping her ears. Blaze just watched awkwardly.

"Sparkle...I...I don't need help. Once I finish this device, Fudgebar won't exist anymore..." he then turned to Blaze. "I'm sorry for the trouble miss, but, you can go back home...and take Sparkle with you..."

Sparkle looked away sadly. Blaze just slowly backed out of the lab, trying to avoid being involved. 

"Look Sparkle, this situation got a whole lot more dangerous. Now I KNOW he has my brain. That means, he fights like me, thinks like me, and he has the same knowledge as me, meaning, he knows your weaknesses. If you and your sister get involved, you are going to get seriously hurt. It already happened once, I am not about to let happen again...to you, or your sister...." Speedy said, just going back to work.

"Fine Speedy...I try to help you out, but you just don't listen to me! What if your S.D.D doesn't work, huh?! You'd probably get killed! So if you can't accept it and at least let me help you...Then...Maybe we shouldn't be friends anymore!!" Sparkle yelled, with tears in her eyes.

Speedy went silent. A tear slowly ran down his cheek. "If that's the way you want it...then fine...have it your way..."

Sparkle just angrily flew out of the lab. Blaze, unsure of what happened, followed her. "Sparkle! What happened!?"

"Just leave me alone!!" she said, flying faster.

Speedy just silently worked in his lab, as tears rolled down his cheeks. "She'll never understand...I made a promise to my father...I'm gonna keep it...no matter what it takes...."
